HRD Trends - ASTD Certification

For years we've all known that
training makes a difference in our companies, but we could never
prove it. Now we are being asked to, or else, as our industry evolves
from training to human performance improvement.
ASTD's benchmarking data provides some insights into
the levels of training commitment by companies across the industry,
and allows you to compare that with what your company is doing.
However, the presentation is not a dull look at data-intensive
charts, but a fun recap of what this information can mean to
you and your career.
We will also look at what CEO's want vs.
what trainers typically deliver—and the HUGE gap in between—plus
a look at key trends and competencies needed in this new millennium.
Included will be an update on ASTD’s
competency study that will serve as the basis for the development
of the ASTD national credentialing program for training professionals
beginning next year.
We’ll start with a group assessment that will make
you wish you’d kept your eyes closed, pause somewhere in
the middle for a question with an elusive but rewarding answer,
and end with a final word for HRDers from Saint Peter.
